New Professional Development Standards

Beginning January 1, 2003, all audiologists who hold the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence will be required to participate in professional development activities. Every 3 years, individuals will need to earn 3 CEUs (30 contact hours), or 2 semester hours at an accredited college or university, or 30 contact hours from employer-sponsored inservice continuing education or other professional development activities in order to maintain their CCCs.
Beginning January 1, 2005, all Speech-Language Pathologists who hold the ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence will be required to participate in professional development activities. Every 3 years, individuals will need to earn 3 CEUs (30 contact hours) or 2 semester hours at an accredited college or university in order to maintain their CCCs.
