Mentor … a master teacher. Descriptors that so often enhance the word mentor are wise, faithful, and true. As a complement to our introduction of the Division 11 Mentoring Project, some of our columns in each issue of this year’s Perspectives reflect various dimensions of mentoring. In this issue, two of our columns, Ethics and Supervision, share this particular focus. This issue also includes two articles with a mentoring in various clinical instruction endeavors. McCarthy, in her feature article, proposes a collaborative model of supervision and describes various interactions that can enhance the mentoring process. Saras, in her feature article, describes the value of reflection in clinical instruction. Besides these articles, our other columns feature excellent information in the issues and resources that could have a substantial impact on clinical practice. I hope that you will find these useful in your own particular circumstances. Please know that I continue to value your feedback and welcome your continued contact whenever youhave ideas to share. I hope to meet many of you at the ASHA Convention in November!
