As many of you are probably aware, one of the major priorities of ASHA is to identify ways to enhance the visibility and valued importance of research and science within the professions as well as within the Association itself. During the recent Board of Division Coordinators (BDC) meeting, the Board determined that the divisions have a unique opportunity to contribute to this very important ASHA initiative. Consequently, part of the next BDC meeting in July will be devoted to creating a plan for how the divisions can align their activities in support of the role of the scientist in the Association and in the professions. Doug Hicks, the Coordinator of Division 3, Voice and Voice Disorders will be leading this project.
