In 2001, I accepted the gracious invitation of the Division 11 Steering Committee to serve as Editor of Perspectives for Volumes 12–14 (2002–2004). After nine issues (three issues per year across 3 years), I face the time to transition into a new position—a 3-year term as an elected member of the Division 11 Steering Committee. I look forward to this opportunity for continued involvement in the leadership of the Division, and I thank those of you who voted for me for this act of confidence on your part. I will work very hard to not let you down.
At the same time, however, I must confess to some ambivalence. Serving as Editor of Perspectives has been such a positive learning experience for me and has enhanced in ways that no other opportunity could my own skills as an administrator and a supervisor. I start to conclude this position with a substantially increased breadth and depth of information about the diversity of issues that administrators and supervisors face, as well as a substantially increased admiration for the creative ways that our Division members address the challenges inherent in these roles. I hope to continue to build upon all that I have learned from you.
