I am surrounded by lush green trees, embraced by the hot summer sun, but know that when you read this, it will be autumn. Hope you all had a great summer! As we approach the 2008 Convention in Chicago consider the following opportunities Division 11 will offer:
The Division accomplished a lot in 2008. Firstly, we sponsored the ASHA Health and Business Institute and the ASHA Schools Conference. We chatted with many Division members and met some prospective members.
The Division also awarded two $1500 research grants. Jennifer Ostergren from California State University Long Beach was awarded a $1500 grant for A clinical fellowship perspective: Working alliance, supervisory styles and supervision satisfaction during the clinical fellowship experiences of speech-language pathologists in training. Pamela Mitchell, Erin Redle, Catherine Krival, and Lisa Audet from Kent State University were awarded a $1500 grant for the Development and validation of a scale to evaluate professionalism in speech-language pathology students. We will continue to award this research grant so please submit your application to Cheryl Gunter.
