As you read this column, many of you will be breaking for the summer, and some (myself included) will still be working. Whichever group you are in, enjoy some of the beauty of nature and the pace of the summer.
The Division 11 Steering Committee (SC) has had a busy year. The committee, which includes Ellayne Ganzfried, Melanie Hudson, Carol Dudding, Kevin McNamara, Shelley Victor, our ex officio Kerry Chmielenski, and Perspectives Editor Elissa Zylla-Jones, met for our annual face-to-face meeting at the National Office on March 5-6. One focus of the meeting was to discuss the upcoming sessions for the ASHA Convention. The Division's Short Course will be “Supporting Professional Performance in the Clinical Workplace” with presenters Melanie Hudson, Kevin McNamara, Moira Mulligan, and Shelley Victor. Our invited session, “Innovative Approaches for Mentoring and Supervising for Today's Professional,” includes presenters Jean Blosser, Carol Dudding, and Dede Matrangola. We are in the planning stages for the agenda for the ASHA membership meeting and are considering conducting a focus group on the issues of securing externship sites.
