1. The Council of Academic Program in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CAPCSD) developed a list of eligibility requirements and essential functions:
1. to ensure that all communication sciences and disorders (CSD) programs follow the same rules for admission to graduate programs
2. to outline the skills and attributes that might be considered requisites to practicing speech-language pathology
3. in hopes of eventually developing a pre-test for admission to the field of speech-language pathology
4. to encourage states to incorporate them into their licensure requirements
2. The faculty at Georgia State University found that:
5. the CAPCSD requirements and essential functions could be adopted by their graduate program without any modifications
